Following the UK Vaping Consultation Submission, our Group Scientific and Regulatory Director, Robert Burton, shared his views on what needs to be done to help achieve a smokefree generation and how to best tackle youth vaping. He suggests that banning flavours is not the answer to curbing youth vaping, and that instead there needs to be a greater focus on both the enforcement of regulation and the education of retailers. Age estimation technology is increasingly considered a legitimate tool to support the prevention of youth access to vapes. At the 2023 Global Tobacco and Nicotine Forum in Seoul, South Korea, our Group Scientific and Regulatory Director, Robert Burton, made the case for such technology to be used in stores selling vapes. Further to this, Puff Store, part of Plxsur, is currently testing the technology in two outlets in Italy.
